1966 Mobylette AV42 Moped 50cc
For sale is my Mobylette AV42 from 1966, sold as spares or repair. Unfortunately, I do not have the V5c for this bike. I am clearing out my shed and have decided to part with this moped.
The bike is in good condition and almost complete, with the exception of missing documents. An age-related registration number can be obtained with the help of EACC. The engine turns over freely and has good compression, although I have never tried to start it.
Please study the photos carefully before bidding, as they may make the moped look better than it is in reality. The moped has been stored in a dry garage for many years and has original frame paint. The centre stand post is strong with no sign of repair, and all panels and mudguards are strong with only surface corrosion and a few dents. Cables will need attention, but they are all there. The exhaust is in very good condition, and chains and sprockets look good as well. The rims are pretty rusty, and the tires have good tread but are old.
The engine number starts with the letter ‘R’, indicating that a Raleigh engine may have been fitted in the past. Viewing is available at any convenient time by arrangement.
