1966 Garelli Super Deluxe
This is one of my father’s projects that he never got around to, and now, unfortunately, he never will. It is a Garelli 50 cc Super Deluxe that requires a full restoration, but it seems to be all there. It needs a bit of work on the bottom of the front guard, but otherwise, it is okay. It was first registered in Shropshire in September 1966 and taken off the road in 1970, where it stayed for over 50 years. I’ve been told it is a rare model, only sold in the UK. The engine kicks over, and gears select, but no attempt has been made to start it.
It’s a mixture of styles, having a pressed steel frame, valanced front guard, upright braced handlebars, very rare factory supplied leg shields, yet it’s fitted with the alloy brake drums and 4-speed foot change Type 354 engine fitted to the Sport and Monza models. The front wheel fitted in the photos is wrong, but the correct alloy drum with new spindle and bearings is included in the sale. Also included are a new piston kit, new speedo gearbox, and new seals and bearings for the engine.
There is no log book, but I have an official copy of the original registration card, which includes the frame and engine numbers together with the original registration number (they all match those on the bike). This will greatly help a V765 application. Please view all of the photos and make sure it is what you want. No returns. Cash on collection. Please contact me if you have any questions.
